I was going to write a new blog post but…
I was going to work out this morning but…
I was going to spend more time with my family but…
I was going to spend some time in the Word this morning but…

Luke 9:61 says, “Yet another one said, `I will follow you, Lord, but let me first say farewell to those at my home.’”

Seems like a simple answer and one that I would probably have said. Maybe I say it now more often than I realize or perhaps want to. “Lord, I will follow you, but…”

I call it my big but! (I was going to make that the title of this post, but I don’t like it when people are a little crass just to make a point or to get readers, so we can just keep that between us.)

Are You Safe in the Harbor?

A couple of weeks ago we were at the beach for our annual family vacation!  It was incredibly fun as usual.  I am a beach lover!!  I love everything about it…even the sand.  I especially love watching our kids enjoying all that is a summer beach trip…the sounds of the ocean, the salty air, the breeze, the waves, the seafood…it is such a great time for enjoying family and creating memories!

This year we decided to splurge and do something a little different that we thought the kids would really enjoy…we went on a dolphin cruise!  It was a blast.  We left from a marina on the inter coastal and traveled about 40 minutes at about 20 mph toward the ocean.  We enjoyed seeing all the houses and boats and the sights of the inter coastal.  Then we saw the opening for the great Atlantic ocean!  Our time in the safe waters of the waterway were coming to an end and we were about to embark on the “high seas” (well, they weren’t really high, but it was the open sea).  We were all excited to be able to see some dolphins.
